One of the best aspects of the poker, in particular in line, it is that you will always find tables available when you want to play. Contrary to a football player who is always depend on the planning of his team or to a doctor which must answer the daily urgencies, a player of poker is free […

Not so long ago I posted that I had recently embarked on a 25NL grind, something I’ve never seriously attempted before. I wanted 40K hands to a) improve my confidence in the game, b) to maintain discipline and play regularly, rather than recreationally, and c) to win teh monies.

Well I’ve reached my goal now (or near enough!) and I’m very happy with my results. 40K is not the largest sample size, however, so whilst I’m done now for the year I intend to come back in 2009 and continue until I reach 2K profit, then step up limits. Well rolled now for 50NL but I’m a super BR nit so that’s the plan.

Thanks for the supportive messages when I began, and in the new year if any other uNL players wanna get in touch and share hands, strategy, sweat sessions etc. then I’m definitely open to that as I’m always looking to improve.

Here’s my redline graph as well, which I’m super-happy about as it’s always been kinda hard maintaining non-showdown winnings at uNL.

Along the way I also managed to come 2nd in a Leggopoker promo tourney on Stars that won me membership to that site. All I can say is, wow, and that if anyone is looking for good strategy advice Leggo is definitely one of the best (and I say that as a former Stox subscriber).

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the previous comments but need another inane question answered

I am just looking to everyone’s advice as to what are considered bad habits or bad form at the poker table.

I used to like separating my chips into two piles (well I did this with Blackjack game I played just to keep track) but I read on the weekend this is termed Ratholing and generally frowned upon. I think this had something to do with my timidity in to actually putting my chips into play just in case of a bad beat. Surprisingly since I have tightened up my online play and watched a few Poker DVDs I have found I generally walk away with more chips than I started per round and a bit more confident in my plays.

Any advice from the regulars/pros so I don’t make an ass of myself when I start hitting the tables would be appreciated.

I have started becoming interested in Poker books to read, but there are so many out there, I am just curious if anyone has a preferred author or title that they refer back to a bit or happy to recommend/

Thanks
